Bobby Simon, aka the Cycle Wizard, is our primary mechanic for Japanese and European motorcycles with a personal affinity for Honda VFR motors, including the new VTEC engine. Bobby has been with Subterranean for 5 plus years, with more than a decade's worth of experience in the motorcycle industry. He formerly worked as an instructor at CCSF, teaching Introduction To Motorcycle Mechanics/Design, and will now be taking over the Basic Maintenance classes taught here at Subterranean.
Chuck Scheid is an MMI graduate certified in Hontech and FAST (Factory Authorized Suzuki Training). In addition to providing sportbike and scooter service, Chuck is currently our acting Parts Manager and Tire guru who oversees our tire service department. Contact Chuck with your Japanese scooter service, brake pads, tires, batteries, spark plug, air/oil filter or repair questions.
So irrespective of the motorcycle make or model you might own*, now might be a
good time to get your bike serviced by one of our experienced
mechanics. Proper motorcycle maintenance is much more important and frequent than
automotive maintenance. Current shop labor rates start at $85/hr. For additional peace of mind, your bike will never sit outside of the shop while being serviced.
*-We rarely accept motorcycles over 20 yrs old or 2-strokes, so call ahead if this is the case.
-We no longer work on Buells or Harley Davidson, we tried to provide an alternative to the dealer, but were unable to find a steady clientel to keep our former HD mechanic busy.
Basic Motorcycle Maintenance Classes
Designed with the first time bike owner in mind, these classes cover basic
questions concerning motorcycle maintenance and upkeep including theory,
tools, oil changes, chain adjustments, brake system maintenance, choosing tires,
tire maintenance, setting suspension, jetting concepts, charging systems, trouble shooting and more. The
class is limited to twelve persons and is taught in a comfortable setting here at the shop where
participation is encouraged.
This class is taught over three Wednesday nights from 6:10pm-9:30pm
Pre-Purchase Inspections
If you're planning on buying a used motorcycle, we highly recommend
getting a comprehensive pre-purchase inspection for $85. Let one of our
mechanics thoroughly inspect the cycle and note all safety concerns. This
45 point inspection can save you a bundle and we give you the results
point by point so that should you choose to buy the bike you will know if
you need to replace tires or brakes etc. We can't stress how important
this inspection is, especially for bikes over 10yrs old. This information
can also be used to negotiate the final price of the bike. It will be
money well spent.
Used Parts
On the subterranean floor, we have an incredible variety of used tanks,
fairings, fenders, exhaust cans, etc. which have been organized and
inventoried. If you need to find something give us a call and ask for Chuck.
New Parts & Accessories
We are able to order OEM parts at the same price offered by the large
Dealers, but we can also sell Aftermarket brands that can be more
affordable and of equal or superior value. Our goal is to offer high
quality at a reasonable price.
Consignment Sales
If you have a running bike with a clean title, we may be able to help you
sell your bike. Most consignment bikes are sold at a 10-15% commission
depending on how much work we have to put into the bike to make it look
good and run well. Remember the benefits to selling by consignment are
that you avoid the hassle of dealing with advertising, technical
inquiries, test rides, and phone calls. My reputation and ability will
help to sell your bike without frustration.
